Obverse: Whorl of three wolves heads, jaws open, tongues trailing, within an inner line border and outer pellet border. Reverse: Pellet and rosette central boss, surrounded by four circular bosses each consisting of a central pellet, surrounded by a pellet circle and outer ring. Four single pellets in-between bosses, outer line border.
Uniform dark tone. Extremely rare, the British Museum has four examples. Exceptionally rare with the wolf whorl flowing anticlockwise (no examples held by the British Museum). Probably the finest example to be offered in recent years. Very fine.
