Edward the Confessor Pyramids Type Penny

Edward the Confessor (1042 – 1066 AD) Pyramids Type Penny; London, Godric. 1.27g. (N. 831, S. 1184). REF: QS54RG.

Obverse: Crowned bust right, sceptre with trefoil cross to right, inscription around EADPARD RE. Reverse: Voided short cross, pellet in centre, each quarter with pellet on pyramid, inscription around +GODRIC ON  LVND (N and D ligate).

A scarce issue, and a scarce combination for the issue (the EMC lists just one specimen for this moneyer / mint). An excellent example, lightly toned, slight wave to flan, better than very fine.
