Edward the Confessor Pyramids Type Penny

Edward the Confessor (1042 – 1066 AD) Pyramids Type Penny; Lincoln, Outti. 1.13g. (N. 831, S. 1184). REF: 3SGEE3.

Obverse: Crowned bust right, sceptre with trefoil cross to right, inscription around EADPARD REX. Reverse: Voided short cross, pellet in centre, each quarter with pellet on pyramid, inscription around +OVTTI O LINCOLNE:

Even dark tone, multiple old scrapes and scratches (a field find), but of sound metal. The EMC/SCBI contain records for 17 Lincoln mint Pyramids type pennies, but only one example of the moneyer OVTTI for any Saxon coin, though there are 4 more for AVTTI. Same reverse die as EMC: 1027.0791 (SCBI: 27/791, Lincolnshire Museums Collections). Good fine.
